After a light breakfast Saturday morning, the class meets on the grassy
hill and learns to master the basics of fly fishing. Then we break
for lunch and move to the lake, trying out our new skills and fishing
with Jim for the rest of the afternoon. After breakfast on Sunday
morning, Jim continues to guide us while we continue to fish, correcting
any imperfections that may have crept into our technique and helping
us grow as budding fisher folk. Then we break for lunch and spend
the rest of the afternoon fishing, eventually bidding fond farewells
to those among our newfound fishing friends who can't stay.
Our instructor will be renowned expert Jim Zullo,
a true master of the fly fisherman's art. Jim has fished this area
all of his life, guiding many people on fly fishing trips they'll
never forget - both in the Adirondacks and beyond. (Jim also happens
to be the famous Shenendahowa Hall of Fame basket ball coach!)
Jim is supplying all of the gear needed - no need to worry
about bringing anything! Of course if you already have a rod and reel
we welcome you to bring them, as this weekend will give you a chance
to get to know your gear better than you thought possible. We supply breakfast and lunch each day you're with us, plus the cottage
of your choice. There are limited cottages available, and we tend
to book quickly, so please contact us as soon as possible if this
fantastic opportunity interests you.
The cost for single occupancy, lessons, gear, breakfast and lunch
will be $250.00 per day. A second person in a cottage (because, after
all, as Jim Zullo says, "some of the best people fly fishing,
and the easiest to teach, are women and children"), will be an
extra $50.00 per day per person.
The closing date for reservations will be May 1st.
There will be no actual check out time on Sunday due to the lessons.
