Maple is full of woodsy surprises, like this
island finished with the trunk of an Adirondack cedar. Look carefully and you'll see the full-
sized fridge built into the wall just beyond it. |

The sliding glass door leads you outside to your private picnic table, grill and fire ring -

At Prospect Point we like to honor both our rustic / country roots, and our proud Native
American Heritage. While much of our Native decor was gathered locally from groups such
as the Iroquois and Algonquians, we also display works from tribes across the country.
A true hunter's cottage, Maple's sconces are made from old Huron snowshoes;
the beaded deer skull is Osage, the quiver, bow and arrows, Cheyenne. |

In deference to Prospect Point's history with Thomas Edison (hmm, that smells like a teaser,
oh go on, have a look at our history page :-) we've outfitted some of our lighting,
including Maple's bedroom fan, with Edison incandescent 19th-century style bulbs. |

Like being in a tree house, the dining area is set into a bay window for fun cozy meals.
The rustic cushions were made for us by an expert local craftswoman; the chandelier, set on
a dimmer for the perfect ambiance, was fashioned from naturally shed antlers of whitetail deer. |

Maple's magnificent porch spans nearly the entire length of the cottage! Like an eagle's nest,
the deck overlooks her private bonfire ring and the beach and cove beyond. Next spring
she'll be landscaped with a nearby outdoor seating area dripping with plants and flowers. |

Walk to the eastern edge of the deck, and enter your own screened-in porch for a romantic
evening among the trees. Of course, you can also enter the porch from the living room. |

                Yet another view from Maple:
When you're ready for boating or a refreshing swim, you're only steps away. |
