"The view of Blue Mountain from the lawn or the big sandy beach is simply magnificent."

 - Elizabeth Folwell, The Adirondack Book

Prospect Point Cottages is nestled on the shores of Blue Mountain Lake, a crown jewel of the magnificent Adirondack Park, with a view of the lake and mountains you'll never forget. All our cottages boast large picture windows and porches overlooking the lake. Most cottages have been completely renovated and feature cathedral ceilings, skylights, and are wheelchair friendly. Some have fireplaces.

Prospect Point is right on the water - no need to cross any highways to reach our beautiful 150 foot sandy beach!

Rising from the beach, our broad hillside lawn is perfect for lying in the sun, enjoying a book, having a picnic, or playing a game of ball, horseshoes or badminton.

Afternoon Picnic

At Prospect Point, there is no regimen or set time; instead, an atmosphere of relaxation and warmth pervades. When you're feeling adventurous, we'll supply you with a map of nearby hiking trails, or point you to some of our favorite canoe haunts. We have a fleet of canoes, rowboats and paddle boats guests are welcome to use. Or you can rent a power boat from the livery or outfitters a short walk up the road. Several lovely golf courses are 10 minutes from your cabin. Tennis is right in town. The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts, a regional treasure, hosts concerts, classes, plays and exhibits. Not to be missed, the renowned Adirondack Museum - called "the best of its kind in the world" by the NY Times - is just across the lake. You can take a tour of "Great Camp Sagamore" - the incomparable northwoods retreat of the Vanderbilts (a National Historic Landmark, 14 miles away), or enjoy a romantic sightseeing or dinner cruise aboard the W W Durant on nearby Raquette Lake.

 SO COME!

SWIM the spring-fed waters of our crystal-clear lake. FISH for bass, lake trout, brook trout and salmon. SAIL past picturesque islands of birch and cedar. HIKE up Castle Rock or Blue Mountain for breathtaking views, or take a leisurely trail through the deep forest. DINE at charming restaurants in the lovely hamlets of our park and SHOP for rustic treasures.

RETURN to a world of woods and waters, of towering pines and secluded ponds, a world of campfires and stories and laughter, a place where the scent of cedar fills the air, where bear, moose, bobcat and deer roam free and the loon and coyote are still heard at night; a place far from the grind and worry of urban life. At Prospect Point, the wilderness is never far away. It is just outside your cabin door . . .
Come. . .
And rediscover Living.
